PLAY “A”
“Singing has the ability to instantly transport me to a place of spiritual bliss. Sharing this with 80 to 100 other women, who are also singing from their hearts, is just as about as good as life gets!”
-Paula
Rehearsals
We begin with vocal warm ups and stretching. Next we work on beautiful and uplifting songs chosen by Becky, our musical director. Chorus members learn all music aurally – that is, entirely by listen and repeat. We do not use music in our concerts, so words and music is memorized. Singers practice independently between sessions with the help of provided on-line resources. These include sound tracks, lyrics, and sometimes sheet music.
The Music
The musical program features an eclectic mix from around the world, songs that are both spirited and spiritual. Many pieces involve 3 to 5-part harmonies, while others are rounds. We often include instrumental performances by local guest musicians.

Covid Policies
While the pandemic restrictions are over, our priority is to keep our singers safe. We are consistently balancing the needs of chorus members with our ability to sing in a large group setting. Masking is now optional in our rehearsals and concerts. Our current policies for rehearsals and concerts can be found here.
Fees
Fees are used for staff, facilities, music licenses, musicians, and other incidental costs. The fee per semester for in-person rehearsals is on a sliding scale of $85-$180 ($160 being the “true cost”). BWC also provides financial assistance to make Chorus accessible to all.
“This is my first season with BWC & I have never met so many kind and welcoming people in my entire life.” – Lori

Morning singers will have the option to sing two or three songs in the concert, but will have some different songs, and a goal of singing together for fun, not so much about preparation. Switching back and forth between rehearsals will not be possible.
